INTERNATIONAL
MINI MEETING 1996

RODENKIRCHEN / GERMANY

The 1996's International Mini Meeting took place in Rodenkirchen, a small town at the river Weser, not far away from Bremen.

Camping Area

When I first heard that Rodenkirchen will be the venue of an IMM, I couldn't imagine that all those people, cars and tents could find place on the little towns market place.

But thanks to the great organization of the three hosts:

  • Mini-Clique Wesermarsch,
  • Mini Fun Club Smile and
  • 1st Bremer Mini Club

it was a fantastic event! Although the weather was a mess (or because of that), the atmosphere was fantastic - the german beer was very helpful! The town-square was packed with people from all over Europe, mainly from Germany (of course), the Netherlands and UK. But also some guys from Scandinavia (Greetings to the Flying Finns) found their way to Rodenkirchen.

Concours d'Elegance

As every year there were a lot of different Minis. Because there were only little spots of green for the tents, most of the cars had to park on a special area beside the town square. This way the cars could be watched from every side without walking on their owners picnic and sleeping area.

How romantic! Wouldn't this be something for us? Always a dry and warm place on all those rainy mini-meetings?

But a Puck and a sportive driving style don't fit together, do they?

Pucks in line

A team from UK at work - looks like they are trying to make one mini out of two!

Service 2

It's so much easier with a flip front (see car on the right).

MINI 2000? Should this be the future?

Just kidding! But It's from the right company - a BMW-Isetta!

So far from Rodenkirchen. By the way - Have you had a look at the report about the Slalom Race at the IMM 1996?
